Pot Luck, My FM & Nicholas Teoh

What does potluck and MY FM and Nicholas Teo has to with one another? Actually it's because of MY FM's annual show which is going to be broadcast over the ASTRO Channel this Monday and one of the singers is Nicholas Teo who also happened to be my Mom-in-law's favourite singer AND my 3rd sis-in-law (aka 3SIL) invited her to watch the programme at my SIL's house. SO I suggested doing a POTLUCK dinner at her house ! Whew!! (Long story eh ? )

So this simple lady started cracking her head to cook something simple yet yummy and of course easy to prepare. IWell , I decided to make a dish of  Pork Nuggets. This dish reminds me of my maid, Haryani, who was very eager to learn to cook for the first time. She secretly copied down everything I said. No wonder everytime I wanted to cook this dish, she can prepare everything I need.

The ingredients for this dish are actually very simple and can be mix-n-match up to our own taste. This round, I'm using water chestnut, carrot and potatoes with "mashed" pork as the main ingredient of course!

First, add soy sauce, sesame oil and some flour to it and mix it about.
Then chop some garlic, onion, carrot, potatoes and water chestnuts.

.

.

Mix all the above ingredients evenly with the mashed pork meat and scoop a spoonful and shape it into 50cts balls.

Flatten it as u fry so that it will look like a nugget. Jeslyn also help me to fry as I shaped the mashed pork meat. Just fry it till it's golden brown. Simple & easy.

Try it our and tell me what do u think?    ENJOY !!!!!!

Jason and his party gift

Playing With SandArt
Friday, 21st Aug,  it's the last day of school for most of the kids, especially those in the kindergarten too. BUT, unlike other schoolgoing kids, these kindies usually have a party to celebrate the lst day of school. During my time, we only go for kinder studies at the age of 6 and there ain't any parties at all, except for Children's Day of course !. Nowadays, kids have parties at the kindergarten to celebrate all kinds of occassion, like Teacher's Day, Mooncake Fest, birthdays and most of all, LAST DAY in school. Just imagine this!
Jason's kindergarten is no exception. That day, when i went to pick him up after work, I saw rows of small packets lined up on a table near the entrance gate. I was wondering what it was when Jason walked up to it and picked up a pack and got into the car. There it was in his hand a packet containing 2 mini sandarts, 2 balloons, 2 jellycups, a party mask and a party blower. Huh! Kids nowadays are definitely much happier, don't you think so?
Here are a few pictures of Jason playing with the mini sandart he brought home. He's been bugging me to let him play  and I've been delaying it until last nite.
AND the result...ta-da..!
My New Camera
My old, trusty Canon Ixus 750 met with an "accident" in June. It was doing its "work" when its "colleague, my cousin bro" accidentally caused it to fall. Now, it has been disabled and the "operation" could put a big hole in my pocket. Look how sad it is.... *sigh*

Today, I bought this new Nikon CoolPix S230 to replace my old "friend" at a price of RM7xx. It is a 3" LCD touch-screen, 10 Mp, 3x zoom  and a smile detector. I have to take some time to make friends with it and hopefully, i can post some cool pictures on my blog for my friends to see. Wish me luck !

Mobile IPL Laser for face

World-First Mobile IPL
Laser For fine wrinkle
treatment and skin resilience

This is a laser "gun" for treatment of wrinkle and skin resilience that my friend bought the other day. According to her, this laser gun came help diminish wrinkles and tighten up the skin. It is about the size of a handphone, thus making it mobile to be carried around. All we have to do is press it to our face and press a button. So convenient..... No need to go for facial treatment at facial shops. Do it while watching TV or even before starting work. Oh Yes!.... and the price is about RM2xxx. and it is payable through EPP too. Nowadays, there a lot of DIY facials that we can do at home instead. It's only time and money that we have to eke out to do it in the comfort of our own home. For me , i would prefer doing it at the facial shops. Why? Because there are no disturbance from the children, a comfortable bed and serviced by good hands. Futhermore, my pocket cannot withstand the shock of parting with that amount of money ! So i take the simple way ; let others do the job...

Lunch at A'Shore

I had a simple lunch with my friend, Irene on Tuesday. Took her to a place called A'Shore. The place is a bit secluded but the food is nice and reasonably priced. They even have a lunch time promo going on where RM1.00 is deducted from price shown (only for individual meal).

I ordered Claypot Lou Shu Fen while my friend ordered Fried BeeHoon in Tai-Look Mee Style ( special arrangement hehehe). While capturing the photos, we were giggling away like schoolgirls because the people there were thinking what these two silly woman were doing.

Irene and I have lost touch for more than 10 years and recently through Facebook, we reconnected and now we are making up for the times lost. In fact, in there  I found quite a number of long-lost friends who were my schoolmates in there. Although we were not close during those days, I take it as to making new friends for today... Life has become more colourful since signing up in Facebook.

Friday Lunch

I had a delicious lunch last Friday where they served this Kelantan recipe (i think) called Nasi Dagang Ayam. Other than tis, I also enjoyed their dessert of the day - Red Bean Tong Sui. My friend ordered their every Friday special - Siamese Laksa (photo as shown below) which is also served together with a plate of fried "foo pei" (also with dessert of the day).

Simple Breakfast

Now, everyone knows what thhis cup of liquid is? For those who really might not know, this is our Malaysia's famous teh tarik.
For those of you who ( might be saying," what is this silly woman writing?" ) know, well, let me tell you what's so special about this teh tarik.
Actually, it's nothing special about the drink, It's how we order this drink. Usually, I would tell the mamak this " I want a cup of HOT teh tarik. And please give me some ice separately to add on later."
On this particular morning, i found out the short-cut to order this drink, that is to say, " Mamak sir, please give me a cup of Teh Tarik Air Cond.." HaHaHa.........

This is my first attempt at making Assam Curry Fish with a little help (of course) from the ever-convenient - ready made sauce from Delichef . I bought this instant sauce from a direct sales which is known to most, Cosway. Not very attractive but taste-wise, yummy, yummy...

Satisfaction

I'm working in the wat-v-call the service line. Day in day out the people i served counts up to about 20 to 30 people.
Well, it's not everyday i get satisfaction from serving these people BUT today i got an exceptional case.
There was this brother n a sister (seniors) that came to my counter at the last office hours. So I did wat i did everyday (plus an extra smile cuz i wan in a happy mood today). At the end of their transaction, the brother came to thank me and added an extra word "Thanks for the good service" . Though it maybe just five simple words but it certainly makes me feel satisfaction in today's work.

Everyday, we speak a lot and say a lot too but there were times that the words we spoke can bring happiness to others. May it be just a simple thank you or good day. So let's try our best to do it everyday and by making one person happy, it will set out a chain reaction of happy thoughts.
