Different Kind of Fusion

Fusion food are the "in" thing nowadays. Whether western with eastern or southern and northern or whatever, we are sure to give it a try. If good, come back again of course. If  the taste so-so, will come if there's no other place to go. Worse than that, well... wait for another to take over the place. That's reality.

A new place for lunch caught my eye the other day and being an "adventurer" for new food, in I go with 3 of my colleagues. The deco - typical  old-style kopitiam with the marble tables and chair. Mainly because the previous owner was also a kopitam restauranteer. This place is called Kafe De Sister and it's opposite Koh Samui, Ipoh.

We were the only group there during the 12pm lunch break. According to my friend, there are more people during  the 1pm lunch break. During lunch, the menu has more than 10 kinds of set to order from. Below is Set D (RM7.90) consisting of a plate of XO fried rice, soup ( that day's soup is something called Toe Fook, a chinese herb ) and also a dessert.

My set G (RM5.50) is a plate of fried spaghetti with a few pieces of pork chop, a glass of iced lemon tea and a small cup of konyaku jelly.

The other 2 friends shared Set K ( RM8.00) - Cheese Baked Rice with Chicken Chop and a glass of herbal drink AND Set N (RM7.00) - a plate of Japanese Style Fried Udon with Black Pepper Chicken and a glass of herbal drink too.

Overall, the taste and price are good enough for me to come back for another try at all the other sets on the menu. Right now, I am even planning to introduce it to my schoolmates at our next lunch gathering.

Project Hat yai "die" liao

Before I can continue with my chapter 2, this project suddenly "die"liao. One sms and the whole project cancelled. No matter what, on the positive side, I got to learn some new things in the process.

Like getting to know a few websites for booking of any hotels in Hat Yai or booking of specific hotel i.e. New Season Hotel through  online-booking is much cheaper.

Anyhow, I'll try out this project later..

Project Hatyai - Chapter One

For the last five days, I've been very hardworking, working on a "project". Not the school one la! of course. Five days ago, my friend and me had an idea of going to Hatyai. At first, I thought i can organise  a trip of 3 days 2 nights for about 10 persons, but in the end, nobody wanted to join us.In the end, it's only the two of us..:-(

So, we changed plans and decided to go for a free and easy trip of 2 days 1 night. Because of this, I started surfing the net for the suitable hotels that I can booked online. Being a first-timer, I was, at first, sceptical of the websites that I'm looking through. There is always a chance I might come across a bogus website that might cheating me.

Other that that, I have to search for maps of the hotels that are near the centre of the city. After five days of work, I finally found the niche of it. Now, reservations and map are all in place. It makes me realize to have a budget-free&easy trip planned is not easy. A lot of things had to be considered.

Now, the last piece of the project will be the transportation. Easy job la! Next post, I should be able to finalise everything,... hopefully !!!

Nine Emperor Gods Festival

It's been ages since i went to this celebration at the Tow Boh Keong Temple in Ipoh. This year, I purposely took my children to see what it's all about. We went there on the 3rd nite. The crowd wasn't that bad though. As we weren't planning on doing prayers, we just walked around and Jeslyn took some pictures (she made me promise to let her do it). The arrangements of the stalls nowadays are much better and not so congested as i remembered from those long ago days. If you want to know more about this festival in Ipoh, try this website here.

Here are all the pictures taken by Jeslyn :-

My 1st D-I-Y Enzyme

A lot of people are talking about making their own fruit enzyme or making enzyme out of garbag nowadays. As far as I know, a lot of my relatives, friends and customers as well, are making their own enzyme concoction. Some drink it for health and some uses it for household purposes like mopping the floor, planting of flowers, washing dishes or even washing the bathroom. Many have said it repels insects and removes oil or stubborn stains very well.

Enzymes for drinking can be made from fresh fruits, vegetables or even Chinese herbs whereas those for household purposes are made for discarded fruit skins and vegetables. If you would like to try doing it, try this website here.

Today I tried my hands in making  green apple and lemon enzyme. The picture below is the result,  2 hours after I sealed the bottle. Notice the brownish liquid at the bottom. Now all I have to do is WAIT........
